Job Description

We are looking for a technology leader to join our new data engineering and analytics team in a hands-on management capacity. You will: • Manage a team of 6+ data engineers and analysts. • Build and own a modern analytics platform leveraging AWS technologies including Glue, S3, Athena, RedShift, and QuickSight. • Develop data models and repeatable and stable ETL pipelines including data quality checks and monitoring while acquiring and processing data from different sources. • Identify data infrastructure pain points and work closely with software and cloud infrastructure engineers to improve productivity and make data analysis great. • Partner closely with your stakeholders and make the data available to business users leveraging data visualization tools, such as AWS QuickSight. ...and at the same time: • Create and uphold our culture of ownership and accountability. • Support and mentor individual contributors including tech leads. • Be hands-on and spend 20% of your time in the code. • Be responsible for the overall planning, scope management, and execution and own SDLC. • Establish a deep understanding of the domain, product, and customers and collaborate effectively with product and customer-facing parts of the company. • Be a bar raiser for your engineering team and our entire organization. You have: • A track record of delivering successful data projects. You know the difference between success and failure early on. • Solid engineering leadership experience in either a technical or a management role. • Strong practical knowledge of data pipelines, ETL, data warehouses, analytics, and reporting. • Strong command of SQL and relational databases. • Love of tinkering with data to enable others to gain valuable insights using efficient queries, relevant metrics, and clear dashboards. • Deep curiosity to understand how things work in order to own and solve problems. • Most importantly, you are self-driven, well organized, curious, tenacious, and communicate effectively. You ask a lot of questions, dig deep, and come up with creative reliable solutions and execute repeatably with a great sense of ownership and accountability. Nice If You Have: • Familiarity with Python • Experience with data visualization tools, such as AWS QuickSight, Tableau, or PowerBI.
