Job Description

We are looking for a true full-stack web developer to join the team. You'll be solving all kinds of technical challenges you can come up with. Some are front end, some back end, some are analytic, and all of them will have major impacts on how this company operates. You'll help them scale their in-house e-commerce platform (that was built using Ruby on Rails), launch A/B tests to optimize the user experience, build internal tools to support their ever-expanding team, and create thoroughly cool new front end features like letting users personalize orders on the fly. We're looking for someone who's enthusiastic and ready to hone his or her skills while learning a few new things, too. And because they are a small, but successful company, you'll play a big part in all of their efforts while reaching a wide and enthusiastic audience. You will... - Bring new features from planning stages to production-ready, carefully tested code - Build scalability into everything you do - Help expand our mobile experience, since this whole cell phone thing seems like it's here to stay - Create cool new front end features that make the site more responsive and engaging - Collaborate closely with rest of the product team: defining new features, reviewing code, discussing how we can make improvements to our site and processes The ideal candidate... - Has a few years of web experience, including some with Ruby - Has JavaScript experience beyond jQuery (AngularJS, React, or a similar framework). - Might use an ORM, but still knows SQL backwards and forwards - Knows when to make a quick fix, and when to start from scratch - Is excited to tackle hard problems and has the resourcefulness to get things done, and done well - Values code quality and knows that doing things right is faster than doing things twice This company takes pride to uphold an environment free of discrimination. They are an equal opportunity workplace and they recognize that their success is dependent on having an inclusive, collaborative team that is as diverse as, if not more than, the products they ship.
